EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Dear Friends,

April was an eventful month at IDC!  On the Hill, IDC met with Members of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs and advocated for legislation to support persecuted Christian communities from Nigeria to Armenia.  IDC contributed to, and closely monitored, a number of relevant hearings on Capitol Hill and followed up with Members.  Testimonies throughout these hearings affirmed the importance of IDC priorities, including continuity of the U.S. mission in northeast Syria to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS.  IDC will continue its advocacy to secure the wellbeing of Christians in Syria and in the greater region.

We invite you to join IDC and the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) at the April installment of the IDC "Learn at Lunch" seminar series.  On April 28 at 1 PM (ET) at IDC Headquarters, Mr. Robert Avetisyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in the U.S., will examine Azerbaijan’s ongoing blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).  Register now!

I’m excited to share that episode #2 of the IDC “In the Middle” podcast has been released!  Check out my conversation with Enes Freedom, former NBA basketball star and human rights champion.  "In the Middle" can be found on all major podcast platforms, and YouTube, with new episodes dropping monthly.

As we continue into 2023, we ask that you continue to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters who face ever-growing persecution and violence around the world.  Also, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to IDC's efforts in advocating for persecuted Christian communities in the Middle East and around the world.  Our work is dependent on your generosity!

"In the Middle" Podcast Episode #2: One-on-One with FREEDOM is out now!

IDC's Richard Ghazal sat down with Enes Freedom. Enes is a former NBA basketball star, whose decade-long NBA career was spent with such teams as the Utah Jazz, New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics (just to name a few).  But in addition to playing basketball, Enes is also an outspoken advocate for human rights.  But, as you’ll find out, his advocacy didn’t come cheap.

"In the Middle" can be found on all major podcast platforms, and YouTube, with new episodes dropping monthly.
