Dear Representative and Senators,


I am asking you to co-sponsor H.Res.1077 - Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives on the continued importance of the United States-Lebanon relationship and S.Res.682 - A resolution recognizing the devastating explosion that rocked the Port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, and expressing solidarity with the Lebanese people. Both of these resolutions are bipartisan.

These resolutions extend condolences to the Lebanese people following the tragic August 4 explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. They also call on the United States to provide humanitarian assistance directly to the people, not to the government, of Lebanon.

They also voice the need for an independent investigation into the explosion with the involvement of international observers. Importantly, both resolutions express the need for urgent economic and political reform in Lebanon.

Lebanon is the last beacon of pluralism in the Middle East and the only country where Christians and Muslims have worked together to build a democracy representative of both groups.

We need you to stand with Lebanon today.
