2021 End of Year Newsletter Dear Friends and Supporters, As 2021 draws to an end, we would like to thank you for your kind and generous support. Thanks to your steadfast faith in our mission, IDC continues to be a leading voice in Washington for persecuted Christians in the Middle East and around the world. In 2021, IDC successfully advocated for President Biden’s historic recognition of the Armenian Christian Genocide. IDC also successfully secured U.S. commitment to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in humanitarian assistance to Middle Eastern Christian communities and other religious minorities in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria. None of these milestone accomplishments could have been achieved without your generous support. But our work is not finished - IDC will continue the fight until Christians in the Middle East and Africa can exercise their faith freely and without fear of persecution. We have already begun our advocacy on the following 2022 policy initiatives, which include: - Preserving Lebanon’s unique Christian Mission
- Protecting and preserving the ancient Christian communities of Iraq and Syria
- Protecting and preserving Coptic Christian presence in Egypt
- Countering state-sponsors of violent extremism, terror, and religious persecution
- Advocating for, and heightening awareness of, persecuted Christians in Africa
- Advancing religious freedom in the Gulf region for native and migrant Christian Communities
- Encouraging greater dialogue and reconciliation among the Abrahamic Peoples
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support IDC’s efforts in 2022. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. -Tonia Khouri President, In Defense of Christians | |
